Applewood Hockey Night - St. Mike's Major's game

Our Applewood Hockey family purchased 500 tickets to the Association Night on Friday, December 11th and ended up witnessing one of the most exciting OHL hockey games, as the hot Windsor Spitfires took on the Majors. It was a chance to see top draft pick, Spitfire's Taylor Hall, before he headed off to the World Jr's.

After a fast-paced game, only a shootout could break the 2-2 tie, and the Spitfire's grabbed the extra point. But the crowd of 3300 was witness to an unbelievable goal by Major's forward, William Wallen, which was featured on sports highlight reels the following day and replayed on YOUTUBE.  Everyone certainly got their money's worth at another fun Association Night.  Thanks to all who supported this fundraiser, which raised $1000 from ticket sales and a further $800 from our diligent 50/50 salespeople!

Prize winners were as follows:

Top Team Sales

#1 - Minor Novice Red - winners of the mini game with 63 tickets sold
#2 - Peewee White - winners of the coach's clinic, with 33 tickets sold
#3- Bantam A - winners of the pre-game skate with 26 tickets sold - this ice was offered to the association for a family skate

Top Individual Sales

First prize :
Philip Pilotti, M. Novice Red who sold 27 tikcets and won an autographed St. Mike's Majors jersey

Second prize :
Carmen Cutruzzola, M. Novice Red, who sold 19 tickets and won an autographed St. Mike's Majors stick

Third prize :
Two way tie between Matteo Cristao, Atom Green,  and Douglas Batch, M. Atom A,  at 7 tickets each, who were the flag bearers at the opening ceremonies

The honorary St. Mike's Major players in the opening ceremonies were Shane Sun and Matteo Maxxone from the TimBits Black Hawks team.
