Congratulations to the Applewood Coyotes Minor Peewee White team who were champions at the MHL Boston Pizza Tournament on April 11th!

Coach Jeff Marshall says “Some of the highlights included a spotlight on City T.V. News on Mon. for athlete of the week (Brendan Woolley who played as an affiliate player in the tournament) and our goalie (Casper Siewiorek) only allowing 1 goal in 5 games. What an awesome weekend for the team!”

Registrations opens on May 15th for returning goalies only. If there are any openings after June 15th, the goalie positions will be opened for any new player on a first come first serve bases.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Thanks to all our members who attended the meeting to recap the past hockey season and to participate in the election for the 2010-11 Board of Directors. HOUSE LEAGUE COACHES FOR RED LEVEL WANTED

Please note that Applewood Hockey Association is now accepting applications for coaching at the Red level for next season. Interested parties should email their application (available under Forms on the website) to Jim MacDonald at jmacd2000_2000@yahoo.com and Mark Zizek at markzizek@sympatico.ca. Coaches who are currently Applewood Red Head Coaches can email their desire to retain the team (no further application necessary). All emails must be received by March 31st to be considered.

COACHES CHALLENGE RAISES $1000 for MHL PLAY MORE PROGRAM

Thank you to our coaches who participated and the fans who cheered them on at Applewood's Coaches Challenge, held on Friday, January 15th at Iceland Arena. Two games were held, one at 7 p.m. and one at 8 p.m.

The Dark team, under honorary Head Coaches, Jim MacDonald and Paul Lima, were victorious in both matches over the Light team, under honorary Head Coaches, Mark Zizek and Brian Gooding. Thanks to referee Tony Ruffolo, linesman Brett Webster (Bantam A) and timekeeper Dylan Pun (Bantam A) for volunteering their time.

Thanks to all our fans who donated to this worthy cause and were treated to a fun evening!

Association Night at the St. Mike's Major's game raises $1800 for Applewood Hockey.

Support our Community Rink at Burnhamthorpe Community Centre

Burnhamthorpe Community Centre has an Outdoor Rink available for rent. The Outdoor Rink is 100' x 100', has a covered roof, lighting, players benches, boards, and even heated dressing rooms. Rental rates start as low as $96.00 per hour including insurance. Great for birthday parties, holiday parties, corporate events, and team functions. Be the first to get your new Coyotes clothing at House League tryouts. Items will be available for sale and order on Thursday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept. 11 from 6 - 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take a look at our catalogue featuring some of the items under the Sportswear tab. T-shirts and hoodies will also be available.

Attention Applewood "A" Level Goalies and Players, Bantam to Midget Sr.

The Applewood Association is planning to provide a Goalie Development Program for the upcoming 2010-11 Hockey season.

We need your assistance to help train our House League and lower level "A' Goalies, You will obtain the community hours you need for High School as well as learn valuable teaching skills from a qualified Goalie Coach. For further information , please contact Richard Menartowicz @ 905-897-2586.

09-10 Midget Red Coyotes are MHL Champions

The Applewood Senior Midget Red team follows up their regular series championship with gold medals in the playoffs. Congratulations to all the players and coaching staff on a great season!

APPLEWOOD COYOTES TO SPORT COOL NEW JERSEYS FOR THE 09-10 SEASON!

The Coyotes are excited to announce a new look for the upcoming season. The new NHL-cut jerseys will sport the navy/gold/white Buffalo Sabres colour scheme.

House league teams will receive their white jerseys with the new look and "A" teams will wear "white" as home and a predominantly navy version as the "away" jersey.

We look forward to seeing all our players proudly wearing their NHL style jerseys in arenas in September!

TIMBITS JERSEYS

If your 4-6 year old is participating in our great pre novice program this year, they will be sporting these cool new jerseys in colours based on NHL teams.

SECOND SESSION OF POWER SKATING CLINICS

The second session of power skating clinics will start January 7th (for 8 weeks at a cost of $80) run by Varsity Hockey.

Thursday, January 7, 2010 6:30PM to 7:30 PM and 7:30 to 8:30PM at Tomken Arena
Duration is eight (8) weeks
Fee is $80 payable by cheque to Applewood Hockey Association or by credit card.
