This year Coach's Challenge Thanks to the 50 Applewood coaches who participated in the Third Annual Coaches Challenge on Friday, Jan. 18th! Two exciting and fast-paced games took place. In the first game, White prevailed narrowly over the Blue team 4-3. In the second game, the White team beat the Blue team 5-2. The games were officiated by honourary referees, AHA President Mark Zizek, and pre novice referee Joseph Sicilia. The timekeeper and announcer was Peewee Red member, Brett Webster. A big thank you to the fans who came out to cheer on their favourite
coaches. Due to their generosity, Applewood is proud to have raised $1000
for RIGHT TO PLAY, and a pile of food for MISSISSAUGA FOODPATH.
Last year Coach's Challenge This years Coachs Challenge held at Iceland Arena on Friday, January 12th, surpassed last years in virtually every respect. We had two evenly matched and very exciting games with a great representation from the teams. The first game ended in a 3-3 tie, generating an exciting shoot-out with the Blue team prevailing! The second game saw the White team victorious 9-8. From all indications, the fans really enjoyed the event, cheering loudly for their favourite players and waving their banners. The best fan signs were made by Paul Rebelo's Peewee Red team! Two Coyote's jackets were raffled off - the lucky winners were Jonathan Carella, Minor Atom White, and Ante Marinovic, Peewee Red. Not only did Applewood shine, our charities came out on top too! Thanks to your generous support, Applewood raised 375 lbs of food for our local food bank and $1,200 for the Tour for Kids Childrens charity. Thank you to our special referees, Jamie Macedo (Midget A), and AHA President, Mark Zizek, and to timekeepers and announcers Angelo Sicilia (M. Midget White) and Brett Webster (M. Peewee Red).
